Programs & Services
Supporting Education. Fueling Innovation. Activating Communities.
Community Activations Network (CAN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with colleges, employers, and community leaders to design and fund forward-thinking workforce solutions. We don’t conduct the training—we create the ecosystem that makes training possible, accessible, and sustainable.
Workforce Training Partnerships
We collaborate with your business, subject matter experts, colleges, trade schools, and community-based training providers to co-design and deliver curriculum solutions that meet emerging sector needs. Whether it’s clean energy, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, or trades—we connect the dots between employer demand and educational access.
Example: Our proprietary LITT (Laser Induction Technology Training) program was developed in partnership with industry leaders and is currently in the patent process. It’s just one example of how we build sector-ready innovation.
Think Tank Services for Economic Development
Our CAN Think Tank brings together data, strategy, and stakeholder collaboration to solve local workforce challenges. We support:
Municipalities and Counties with workforce alignment plans
Developers and Site Selectors seeking training-ready locations
Industries launching new tech, training needs, or job creation efforts
Community leaders designing scalable wraparound solutions
We are one of the few think tanks that support all accredited training institutions—not just public university systems.
Tuition Scholarships & Grant Funding
Through donor support, we create dedicated funds that offset tuition costs for eligible students in workforce programs. Scholarships are available for students attending partner colleges or apprenticeship programs pursuing careers in:
Trades & Skilled Labor
Healthcare & Medical Fields
Construction & Infrastructure
Manufacturing & Emerging Technologies
A portion of all funds raised goes directly to student tuition and program-based workforce scholarships.
Student Persistence & Retention Programs
Too many students leave training due to life barriers—not academics. CAN works with employers, training programs, and local agencies to provide support in areas like:
Transportation solutions
Child care or elder care referrals
Utility assistance
Housing insecurity or social services connections
Our goal: Keep students enrolled, employed, and thriving.
Community & Industry Collaboration
We connect:
Employers seeking skilled labor
Communities preparing for growth
Training institutions building new pipelines
Funders looking to make a measurable impacts
By facilitating high-value partnerships, CAN supports business growth and community empowerment at the same time.
· Persistence programs that help students stay enrolled and succeed by overcoming barriers such as transportation, childcare, mental health, or academic support
· Annual and business membership programs to strengthen engagement and community investment in successes
· Economic development and capacity-building strategies to revitalize communities
· Customized “Train-to-Order” solutions for local industries—designed to reduce onboarding time and improve productivity
· Innovation in workforce readiness, including cutting-edge curricula
At CAN, we deliver access, innovation, and support to the people, communities and institutions who make training work.
